InCoWriMo. Wha…?

Since it seems there aren’t any interactive calendar plug-ins for blogs hosted by WordPress and this isn’t the exact sort of frivolity I want on my main site, I’m making this slightly ugly check-list style of thing to keep me semi-honest in the attempt at International Correspondence Writing Month I. It is more likely to become a publicly available source of shame as the month progresses, and may well vanish entirely if it begins to oppress my ego, but for the moment, let’s get on with it.

Since I don’t think my correspondents will really want me putting their names and addresses on the internet, I’m going to be extremely vague about who is getting what and where they are; on the latter, I’m using the codes from the cool international ovals we never really got to use in North America.  The “Accomplished” place holder will appear as green for done and away on time, orange for done and eventually put in the mail (look for it a lot; it’s cold and mailboxes are not handy to my home), and red for I really suck and can’t keep up with writing.

I have to confess I participated in InCoWriMo. I think I was only successful in reaching my 28 letter/card commitment because I have 8 grandchildren and I included their Valentine’s Day cards in my count. I hope to participate next year as well. If your address is posted I will include you in my 28. Respectfully, PK

    • Well, having let the whole affair drift past this year without any attempt to manage a letter a day, I can only honour your scraping out any (entirely reasonable) justifications. Expect an address presently.
