Happy Birthday, National Voice!

Today is the 75th anniversary of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. I mark this because my childhood’s background noise is a constant murmur of radios tuned to CBC, bringing the mellow and informative tones of Peter Gzowski, Alan Maitland, Lister Sinclair, Barbara Frum and even David Suzuki into the house. I mark CBC’s birthday, because CBC has marked me, and I think it counts as one of the few observable items of actual Canadian culture. Long may she sail!
Today’s inadvertently semi-thematic pen: Parker Duofold (UK made, with a Canadian point, which if one considers the inspiration the BBC provided is quite day-appropriate)
Today’s ink: Pelikan 4001 violet
